Students in Massachusetts who do not have a TVI can still access the DESE APH Account via the following steps that were kindly shared by Carrie Brasier, AIM Library Director:
- Contact the Special Education Director of the student's school system.
- The Sped Director will contact the AIM Library for assistance.
- Once the Sped Director reaches out, the AIM Library can move forward to address the student's needs.
- The student's LEA will request parent/guardian consent.
- APH Eligibility/Registration is reviewed annually with assistance from the SPED Director and LEA.
- As each student is unique, the following details will be discussed between the LEA and the AIM Library:
- Who can place APH orders for the student throughout the year? What does that process entail?
- Are APH products able to be used at home as well as school?
- Can APH products be delivered to home or only to school?
- When finished with a product, does a student have to send back the APH materials to the AIM Library? If yes, does this apply to all materials? What does this process entail?
